All acoustic pianos lose their tune over time, and things like the room temperature can affect the rate that this issue occurs. Temperature changes cause small mechanical parts to expand, slowly, tightening or loosening the piano strings, which causes the keys to play out of tune.

Piano Removal Tuner and Repairing

Moving a piano from room to room, or from one property to another, can be a hard task, especially if it’s a baby grand or grand piano. A lot of people assume any removal company can do it, but you will be very mistaken to think that.

AMH often receives calls from customers asking us for their help after removal has bodged up their piano, either because of cosmetic damage, internal damage, or incorrect assembly. Our removal team will ensure your piano does not get damaged, and is disassembled and then assembled correctly.

We will then inform our customers to let the piano rest between 1-2 weeks before playing it, as often that can cause the piano to lose its tune. Leaving it to rest reduces the chance of needing a tune but doesn’t necessarily prevent it, mainly if the move occurs in very hot or cold weather.
